Learning is my favourite thing in the world, and sometimes, as I learn, I attempt to develop novel concepts in an effort to better understand myself and the world around me, and then, I spend the rest of my life challenging, rethinking, and expanding these concepts. My interests include philosophy, political theory, law, economics, anthropology, futurism, technology, and personal development. Please bear in mind that I have not received any formal tertiary education in the subjects I discuss here, and that I am bound to make many mistakes. If you read any of the essays here, I encourage you to point out mistakes and attack my concepts by reaching out to me. All feedback is greatly appreciated!
Vindan’s fictions
Stories that govern our world
‘Fictions‘ are imagined, shared human abstractions that enable our societies. ‘Vindan’s fictions‘ are fictions that legitimise and are legitimised by other fictions, thereby creating a hierarchy of upper (common) and lower (foundational) fictions. A Vindanist is a social engineer who first studies the many hierarchies of fictions that exist and have existed in our world, observes how the many institutions therein interact and how these connections flow, shift, and change, and then, using this knowledge, deliberately and carefully remodels the hierarchy of fictions in his own society to bring about enormous change, for better or worse.
Elementary day
How good Tuesdays translate to a good life
The elementary day is the set of actions, thoughts, and beliefs demonstrated by a person on a normal, average day, by which, in my belief, that person is wholly defined. One’s elementary day is as plastic as the human mind is, and therefore, it is the reengineering of one’s daily conduct rather than the completion of a checklist of objectives that leads to success.
Cognition economy
Keeping humans on top
How intelligent the agents of an economy are is the most important factor in how wealthy their society is. These agents, therefore, would want to increase the aggregate index of cognitive ability in their society. They can do that in either of two ways: building a second agent that is much smarter than them (ASI), or making themselves much starter than they were (genomics etc).
